I studied Biochemistry, then spent some years writing software instead. Now I run SkilledCrow from Ekiti: I design the product, write the backend, ship the frontend and keep the servers alive. Most days that means Go, Rust or TypeScript.

01About

From biochemistry to building the whole stack

I'm Akinwumi, founder of SkilledCrow Technologies. I've been building software for about six years, across full-stack web and Web3, and I like owning a product all the way down: the screens, the API, the database, the servers, and lately even the nameservers.

SkilledCrow is where I build products for Nigerian users and businesses. Right now that's Itoka, a DNS hosting and domain platform with its own nameservers; Declutah, where you get to sell your used items; and MatchdayHub, websites and matchday graphics for football clubs. I'm also technical co-founder at Pregame, where I built 0DTE, an options trading platform on Solana.

The long game is Iyin Ekiti. I want it to become a real technology hub, with power, internet and people building things that matter, and SkilledCrow is my first brick.

Off the clock I play guitar, rearrange my Linux desktop more than I should, and keep learning security and distributed systems on the side. I'm also doing a Master's in IT at Miva.

Itoka

DNS hosting and domains for Nigerian developers, on our own nameservers. Records go live on both servers in seconds, every record is checked before it's saved, and a developer can buy a domain for a client while the client stays the owner. Itoka is Yoruba for "pointer", which is what a DNS record is.

  • Set up our own nameservers, ns1 and ns2.itoka.ng, on PowerDNS; itoka.ng went live in the .ng zone on 8 Oct 2026
  • Wrote the Go control plane: zones, records, scoped API keys, ownership checks and an audit log
  • Record checks the big registrars skip, with errors that say what's wrong and how to fix it
  • Domain sales (.com, .net, .org) through Openprovider, paid in Naira through Bachs
  • Owners and managers: hand a domain to its real owner with one button
